Cellulite and stretch marks involve different structures, so the goals of care should differ.

Cellulite and stretch marks: Endospheres therapy in context

You may be looking into Endospheres therapy because you want less visible cellulite on your thighs or stretch marks that appeared with changes in weight, pregnancy or growth. Advertising often bundles these concerns into a single 'smooth skin' programme, but medically they are different. Cellulite involves dimples created by the interaction of fat, skin and fibrous connective-tissue bands; stretch marks are linear changes within the dermis that resemble scarring. A mechanical massage device may be considered for a temporary change in surface appearance, but it is not a proven way to erase stretch marks.

Endospheres is a commercial technology using rhythmic compression and vibration from rotating spheres. It does not puncture the skin, which may appeal if you cannot take time off work or conceal injection marks. Yet the absence of needles does not by itself establish lasting cellulite reduction, fat removal or repair of the changed dermis. The useful starting point is to choose according to the kind of change you see, not the claim that one treatment does everything.

Cellulite or stretch marks: how can you tell?

Cellulite is often described as an 'orange peel' texture: shallow pits, depressions or unevenness become visible in some lighting and body positions. Very slim, physically active people can have it. The appearance reflects connective-tissue bands, subcutaneous fat, skin thickness, age-related changes and genetics. In itself, cellulite is not a sign of illness, poor health or inadequate care.

Stretch marks tend to appear as elongated parallel lines. Newer marks can be pink, red, purple or brown, depending partly on skin tone. With time they fade and may look slightly indented or different in texture. Their development involves changes in collagen and elastin as well as stretching. A mature white stretch mark cannot be 'rolled back into place' through vibration. Skin-remodelling techniques are studied to improve its appearance, but even those cannot promise complete disappearance.

Both features can coexist in one area: imagine rounded dimples between pale vertical streaks on a thigh. If massage leaves the skin feeling more comfortable or temporarily looking smoother, that is not proof that the stretch marks were repaired. Track the same individual streaks separately from the overall texture, in comparable lighting and body positions.

What does Endospheres actually do, and what remains unproven?

The manufacturer's description calls the method Compressive Microvibration: a head with rotating spheres applies pressure and low-frequency mechanical vibration simultaneously. Some body heads incorporate 55 silicone spheres; that is a specification of the relevant system, not every roller device. The brand has multiple platforms and attachments, so the names Endospheres, AK Body, EOS and Evolution do not justify assuming identical settings or technical capabilities.

The company claims body-contouring effects and improvements in tissue condition and cellulite appearance. Other descriptions refer to circulation and minor muscle discomfort, but that does not establish lasting improvement of cellulite or removal of stretch marks. Manufacturer claims and independent clinical evidence are different things. Phrases such as 'breaks down fat', 'removes toxins' or 'guarantees tightening' should not become promises to a patient without reliable trials of those specific outcomes.

A small prospective Endospheres study enrolled 27 women aged 40–69 with mild-to-moderate cellulite, examining skin changes by ultrasound after 12 procedures and at a two-month follow-up. It was single-centre and nonrandomized, without a robust comparison group. That makes it difficult to separate the treatment effect from normal tissue variation, measurement differences or other factors. Reported group changes do not establish a personal guarantee or a long-term result.

In sources checked through 21 October 2026, including manufacturer material, the cited Endospheres study and dermatology reviews, we found no convincing controlled evidence that Endospheres itself removes stretch marks. A broader systematic review of randomized trials of cellulite interventions finds many competing approaches, variable study quality and follow-up, and no single definitively established answer. Endospheres should not be assumed equivalent to procedures releasing fibrous bands or to other evaluated devices. Likewise, a device patent, certificate or registration in one country is neither proof of a specific cosmetic outcome nor evidence of availability in Yerevan.

Which options fit dimples, and which fit streaks?

If cellulite is your main concern, consider whether it consists of shallow widespread unevenness or individual deep tethered dimples, and how much recovery you are willing to accept. These can require different approaches. Massage and rolling treatments may suit someone who values gentleness and is comfortable with an effect that could be small, temporary or imperceptible. For deeper tethered dimples a doctor may discuss release of fibrous septa, which is more invasive and carries bruising, pain and other risks.

Acoustic waves, certain lasers and radiofrequency approaches have been studied for cellulite, with differing results and durability. Ultrasound fat reduction, cryolipolysis and liposuction are not universal answers to dimpling; liposuction can sometimes make it more conspicuous. 'It reduces centimetres, so it removes cellulite' is a flawed comparison: body volume and fibrous tethering are distinct outcomes.

For stretch marks, their age and colour matter. The American Academy of Dermatology reports limited benefit from hyaluronic-acid skincare or prescribed tretinoin for some newer stretch marks. Expectations for creams on mature marks should be lower. Do not use tretinoin or other retinoids during pregnancy; during breastfeeding, discuss the choice of product with a doctor. Microneedling, which makes controlled tiny punctures, and fractional lasers are studied for texture improvement, not total erasure. Reviews find variable benefit and possible post-inflammatory pigmentation, particularly important in skin prone to dark marks after irritation.

How does a session feel, and what might others see?

During body treatment the applicator moves across the skin. You generally feel rolling pressure and vibration, with intensity depending on the equipment, tissue and practitioner's technique. Some areas feel comfortable; sensitive ones may hurt. You do not have to tolerate intense pain in the hope of a better result. Sharp pain is a reason to stop and reassess.

Endospheres does not deliberately break the skin with needles or laser energy, so many people can resume daily activities soon afterward. But that is not a promise of an invisible recovery for everyone. Transient redness, tenderness or, in those prone to bruising, more visible patches after firm pressure can occur. A claim of 'no downtime' does not mean there can be no social inconvenience before a beach outing or photo session the next day.

Treatments directed at stretch marks can look very different afterward. Laser or microneedling may leave redness and texture changes for days or longer, while post-inflammatory pigmentation can persist longer still. Before an event, sun exposure or travel, ask for a personalized recovery schedule; another person's promotional account cannot predict your healing, particularly when skin tones, treatment intensity and pigment tendencies differ.

Cellulite before-and-after photographs are highly sensitive to pose: turning a thigh, flexing a muscle or changing overhead to side lighting can transform the apparent dimpling. Look for the same area, similar posture, identical lighting and a stated interval since treatment. For stretch marks, compare the same specific streaks instead of judging only the overall smoothness. Missing long-term follow-up is a meaningful limitation.

When is cosmetic treatment the wrong next step?

Cellulite should not cause sudden, substantial painful swelling of one leg. If the skin is hot, red or acutely painful, or one leg suddenly swells, seek urgent in-person medical assessment: a blood clot is one possible cause. If breathlessness, chest pain, coughing up blood or fainting also occurs, call emergency services immediately; these may be signs of pulmonary embolism. Do not try to 'move the fluid' with a machine. Inflamed skin, wounds, unexplained painful lumps, significant vascular disease, reduced sensation or a bleeding tendency require medical assessment before forceful mechanical pressure.

Do not take a manufacturer's 'no contraindications' claim literally during pregnancy. Tell the clinician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, recently had surgery, take blood thinners or have an implanted medical device, and ask for precautions for the actual model. It is reasonable to postpone a nonessential cosmetic session. Never stop prescribed medication on your own just to attend.

If stretch marks have appeared rapidly, are unusually wide and purple, and accompany easy bruising, major weight changes, muscular weakness or steroid medication, discuss possible hormonal causes with a doctor. This does not mean you necessarily have an endocrine disorder; it means massage cannot replace diagnosis. Painful, inflamed or changing skin lesions also need an examination.

How can you decide without regretting a package of sessions?

Before paying for a course, define one observable outcome: for instance, 'fewer visible dimples on the upper thigh in normal daylight', not 'remove everything unwanted'. Ask how long the proposed change might last, how it will be measured, and what the plan is if several visits make no visible difference. The independent evidence on Endospheres reviewed through October 2026 is insufficient to promise every client a fixed number of sessions, percentage of smoothing or permanent outcome.

Ask for the exact device name and generation, applicator design, practitioner training, contraindications, hygiene and what happens if treatment is painful. Separately ask how the method is expected to address cellulite and how, if at all, it is expected to affect stretch marks. Guarantees that vibration destroys mature scar-like streaks, or claims that cellulite needs treatment because it is medically harmful, are reasons to walk away.

Total cost is more than the listed per-session price: consider the number of visits, possible maintenance, additional approaches, consequences and travel time. There is no reason to prepay solely because of a compelling image or discount. Availability and legal status of a specific Endospheres model in Yerevan require independent confirmation; a foreign brand page does not establish what a particular provider owns.

You may choose gentle care, accept a more involved option with understood trade-offs, or change nothing. Cellulite and stretch marks are common and require no treatment simply because they are visible. A sound decision leaves you clear about achievable improvement, uncertainty and recovery, not persuaded by promises of 'perfectly smooth skin'.

Additional questions

Can exercise completely eliminate cellulite?

Physical activity supports health, muscle tone and wellbeing, but dimples also reflect fibrous tissue bands and can persist in athletes. Not achieving completely smooth skin does not mean you have exercised incorrectly.

Will tanning make stretch marks less noticeable?

Ultraviolet radiation damages skin and does not treat stretch marks. The marks may tan differently, making contrast stronger. Self-tanner may temporarily change colour contrast but does not rebuild their structure.

Why do stretch marks develop when weight is stable?

Growth, pregnancy, hormonal changes, heredity and some medicines or illnesses also contribute. Rapid development of unusually broad marks or additional symptoms merits a medical discussion.
