Profhilo Body Before and After: Skin of Arms and Abdomen
You're looking at Profhilo Body before-and-after photographs and wondering whether skin on your inner upper arms or abdomen might look smoother or firmer. Modest improvements in hydration, smoothness and firmness are possible, but photographs cannot prove that this product will lift substantial excess skin or change your body shape. Results vary, and attractive photographs may show selected success stories. Before comparing pictures, establish which exact product was used and what researchers measured.
What can you actually see in the photographs?
Profhilo Body is a distinct injectable hyaluronic-acid product intended for body skin. It is not the same as Profhilo for the face and neck or Profhilo Structura; products in one family do not necessarily share indications, doses or expected effects. IBSA's European instructions describe treatment of lax body skin and certain dermal-recovery applications, with injection techniques for the upper arms and abdomen. A clinician should plan the dose and injection approach around your tissues rather than a social-media example.
In reasonably matched pictures you might notice fewer fine, crêpey folds at rest, less apparent dryness and more even reflections of light. That is a possible observation, not a promise. A different shoulder angle, tightened abdomen, muscle tension, self-tanner or retouching can create a more striking change than treatment itself. One flattering angle does not measure elasticity.
| Your concern | A realistic possibility with Profhilo Body | What the picture cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| Fine crêpey texture and dryness on the inner upper arms | Gradual improvement in hydration or the sense of firmness may occur | That folds will disappear during movement or everyone will respond alike |
| Mild laxity of abdominal skin | Texture may change where the starting changes are moderate | That pronounced excess skin after weight loss or pregnancy will shrink |
| Deep stretch marks, scars or conspicuous cellulite | The cause and type of tissue change need separate assessment | That Profhilo Body specifically corrects these conditions |
| A wish to reduce arm or waist size | The procedure is not designed to remove fat | That any shape change was caused by injections rather than position or weight |
How persuasive is the before-and-after evidence?
Studies of hybrid hyaluronic-acid complexes, including Profhilo Body, have been published, but they are not a large independent verification of every advertised outcome. A 2026 systematic review included nine studies involving 278 people across Profhilo and Profhilo Body and different areas of the face, neck and body. That figure is not a sample of 278 women treated with Profhilo Body on their abdomen. Some skin measures improved, but trial designs and scales differed, and some review authors worked for the manufacturer.
A separate inner-upper-arm study enrolled women with early laxity who underwent a long series of injections and follow-up for up to a year, not just one isolated treatment. Evaluations improved, but the study took place at one centre, had no parallel control group and included authors affiliated with IBSA. Consequently a study photograph and an account after two visits do not establish the same likely effect or duration. Transferring findings from upper arms to an abdomen with substantial loose folds requires particular caution.
Seven checks that change the meaning of a photograph
- Same area: both images must show exactly the same part of the arm or abdomen, not different patches of skin.
- Same posture: a raised arm tightens skin and a tucked-in abdomen changes folds; ask for relaxed positions.
- Same light: hard side lighting reveals texture whereas soft frontal light smooths it visually.
- Date: ask when pictures were taken relative to the last injection; the first hours and several weeks later tell different stories.
- Course length: the product instructions describe an initial two sessions 30 days apart, with maintenance decided individually. Ask for the entire treatment history.
- Other changes: weight, exercise, devices and skincare can all influence appearance, so a photograph cannot isolate one product's contribution.
- Selection: a series representing different starting conditions tells you more than one perfect example, but still cannot predict your result.
For your own comparison, take baseline photographs with consistent light, distance and arm or torso position. You do not need to scrutinise your skin every day: temporary swelling and injection marks can alter the early appearance more than any lasting improvement. Ask when the clinician plans to repeat pictures and how change will be assessed, including a direct examination of skin quality.
When to judge the result, and what the first days look like
IBSA's instructions describe two initial Profhilo Body sessions separated by 30 days; later maintenance may be considered but is not compulsory. Do not call the appearance after the first visit the finished result. Hyaluronic acid binds water and the local response to needles can temporarily change the surface. First assess tolerance, then judge whether any improvement persists at the agreed follow-up. A lengthy repeated-injection study cannot guarantee a specific number of months from a short course.
Small bumps at injection sites, redness, warmth, tenderness and bruising are among the manufacturer's described local reactions. They often settle, but nobody can reliably predict the size of your bruise or when you will feel comfortable in sleeveless clothing. Medical recovery is not the same as social invisibility. If a beach trip, photo session or sleeveless event is approaching, allow a buffer agreed with your clinician rather than booking just beforehand.
The instructions recommend avoiding ultraviolet exposure to the treated area for 3–5 days and using strong sun protection. Ask for written, personalised guidance about exercise, swimming, saunas, massage and cosmetics rather than following comments online. Do not stop prescribed blood-thinning medicines on your own to prevent a bruise; discuss them in advance with the prescribing clinician and injector.
When photographs must not replace an examination
After substantial weight loss, large hanging skin folds may be beyond what injections could visibly improve. Stretch marks, scars and fat deposits involve different tissue problems and may call for different assessment. You can reasonably choose skincare, observation or discussion of other methods without assuming another procedure will work.
Under IBSA's Profhilo Body instructions, treatment is not to be used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, in autoimmune disease, with known sensitivity to components or on inflamed skin; it is intended for adults and appropriately trained professionals. The instructions also prohibit combination with laser resurfacing or medium/deep chemical peeling in the specified context. Have active infection, an unhealed wound or an unexplained rash assessed first. Disclose allergies, chronic diagnoses, medicines and previous injections even if they seem unrelated.
If severe pain increases after injection, an area suddenly turns pale or dark, or a strange netlike colour pattern develops, urgently contact the injector and obtain an in-person medical assessment. These warning signs come from general guidance about vascular complications with injectable hyaluronic-acid products; they do not establish the complication rate for Profhilo Body specifically. Expanding hot redness, pus or fever also need clinical assessment rather than waiting for them to 'settle'. Call emergency medical services immediately if you suddenly develop breathlessness, tongue or throat swelling, or fainting. These are general danger signs of a severe reaction after an injection, not a measured complication rate for Profhilo Body.
Questions to ask before consenting
Ask to see the precise product name on the package, the instructions applicable in your country, the planned injection area and why your skin changes fit the product's purpose. Clarify how many areas will be treated, the total course cost, how progress will be documented and which symptoms require an urgent call. IBSA's instructions provide for a device implant card containing treatment information. One particularly useful question is: 'If I complete the course and see no improvement, what would you advise next?' An unpressured answer matters more than a perfect portfolio.
In short, Profhilo Body photographs can provide a cautious reference for subtle changes in the texture of arm and abdominal skin. They cannot predict a lift, a new body shape or guaranteed longevity. Comparable pictures, the full treatment history and examination of your own skin are a better basis for choice than a dramatic collage.
Questions that may still remain
Can I spot a retouched photograph?
Not reliably. Ask for original dated files and a consistent series; even those cannot prove that no other treatments were carried out.
Should I rely on pictures of someone my age?
Age helps provide context, but baseline laxity, weight fluctuations, skin thickness, body site and full treatment course matter more than matching birth years.
Must I agree to photographs at a clinic?
Not automatically; the purpose and consent terms matter. Ask how images are stored, who can see them and whether you can refuse publication separately from clinical documentation.
