Fillers and facial contouring

Saypha Volume vs Saypha Skinbooster: What Is the Difference?

You are being offered Saypha Volume for the cheeks or deep folds, while a price list also mentions a “Saypha skinbooster.” The names resemble each other, but these are not two doses of the same procedure. Saypha VOLUME is a hyaluronic-acid filler intended in certain versions for deeper folds and volume correction; Saypha RICH focuses on superficial hydration and fine lines. A skin-quality product cannot create pronounced cheekbones, while a volume gel cannot replace care for dehydrated or inflamed skin. The important decision is which exact Saypha product meets your goal and what trade-offs it brings in effect and risk.

Why does the word VOLUME change the decision?

In ordinary language “volume” can describe anything from fuller lips to softer cheeks. With injectable treatments the physical mechanism matters. A stabilised hyaluronic-acid gel occupies space in tissue and can alter facial contour. What you see depends on its properties, injected quantity, anatomy and the injection plane allowed in the particular manufacturer's instructions. This does not lift sagging skin or regenerate ligaments and bone structure.

Several products in the range contain the word VOLUME, but that does not authorise injecting each into the same site. Lidocaine versions contain a local anaesthetic that may ease pain but require attention to allergies and the other label restrictions. “PLUS” is not merely a marketing suffix: Saypha VOLUME PLUS Lidocaine has a distinct clinical evidence history and its own labelled tasks. A substitution at the appointment deserves a fresh explanation and your consent.

VOLUME, VOLUME PLUS, FILLER and RICH: which concern belongs where?

Product Typical purpose in the relevant range documentation A request not to assume it fulfils
Saypha VOLUME / VOLUME Lidocaine Deeper folds; certain versions also describe volume correction, subject to the exact label “Every facial area, including eyelids and nose, without additional risk”
Saypha VOLUME PLUS Lidocaine Restoring midface volume and some contour goals within the applicable label Automatic substitution for VOLUME without rechecking version and indication
Saypha FILLER / FILLER Lidocaine Fold and wrinkle correction according to product instructions Assuming “FILLER” gives the same volumising effect as VOLUME PLUS
Saypha RICH Superficial hydration and fine lines Creating prominent cheekbones, changing the chin or replacing substantial lost volume

This is a decision guide, not an instruction for injecting. Descriptions from the manufacturer and regional distributors are not always worded identically. An available market-specific instruction for Saypha VOLUME Lidocaine, for example, addresses deep nasolabial folds and restricts certain injection areas. “Popular for cheeks, lips, nose and the whole face” is not a substitute for the specific box's instructions.

If you want a sharper jawline or softer nasolabial folds

Do not start by counting syringes. Jawline appearance depends on fat distribution, lower-jaw anatomy, skin properties and excess soft tissue. Modest volume addition can sometimes change proportions, yet prominent tissue sagging may simply make the face look heavier without solving the concern. Also ask whether frontal lighting exaggerates a shadow or hollow in the cheek.

Nasolabial folds can be naturally pronounced even in young people, and they change with a smile. Erasing them completely might take an amount of gel that appears less natural in motion. The clinician should explain the intended injection site, its possible effects on profile and expression, and why the chosen gel is indicated there. If you want to look fresher without looking different, minimal correction or no injection may better reflect your priorities.

Sometimes the concern is loose-looking surface texture rather than lost volume. Discuss suitable skincare, a possible diagnosis and treatments first, then consider injections if still relevant. Do not substitute a denser filler because a promotional video looks attractive.

Is a skinbooster a filler or a different skin treatment?

“Skinbooster” generally describes the goal of improving hydration and some surface skin characteristics; it is not a universally regulated class with identical rules in every country. Manufacturer materials position Saypha RICH for more superficial skin concerns, with properties and intended application distinct from VOLUME. “Superficial” does not mean harmless: even small injections can cause bruises, inflammation, infection or vascular complications. Never borrow depth or injection-site instructions from a denser gel.

Skin feeling less dry and a face gaining volume are different success measures. In before-and-after images, ask what was actually assessed: fold depth, midface volume, hydration or participant satisfaction. A pleasing image without matching lighting, a stated follow-up period and the exact technique tells little about whether that product fits you. Testimonials about Saypha RICH must not be confused with formal VOLUME evidence.

What clinical evidence belongs to Volume?

The PRIMAvera paper concerns the related but separate Saypha VOLUME PLUS Lidocaine, published under its previous name Princess VOLUME PLUS Lidocaine. It evaluated midface-volume restoration in 91 patients in an open-label, prospective, noncomparative study, with follow-up under defined conditions. It does not prove that ordinary VOLUME or RICH achieves the same outcome in other sites; nor can a study without a comparator establish superiority over another product. No serious event being observed in that sample does not exclude rare events.

A separate randomised midface-volume study compared Saypha VOLUME Lidocaine with another hyaluronic-acid filler. ClinicalTrials.gov record NCT05386030 has contained posted study results since January 2025. These are results for a defined device and indication in a trial registry, not automatically an independently peer-reviewed publication or permission for use in Armenia.

An advertisement saying only “clinically tested Saypha,” without variant, region, indication and source, tells you very little. Even a good study depends on eligibility criteria, technique, gel amounts and measurement scale. There is no dependable universal promise that “all Saypha fillers last exactly a fixed number of months.” Visible persistence varies, and volume may subside unevenly.

Regulatory status and what may actually be supplied in Armenia

CE conformity marks relate to exact products within the European regulatory framework. In 2023 Croma announced that Saypha RICH met EU MDR requirements. That claim cannot simply be extended to every VOLUME or PLUS product without its current certificate and instructions. The FDA separately approved Saypha MagIQ in 2025 for specified facial folds and Saypha ChiQ in 2026 for cheek augmentation and midface deficits. ChiQ approval is not approval of a product named VOLUME; MagIQ is not another spelling of RICH.

If you are considering Saypha VOLUME in Yerevan, request proof identifying the product, its lawful supply and the relevant local documentation. An international brand website alone establishes neither clinic availability nor Armenian registration nor an individual injector's qualifications. A foreign box price does not establish the cost of a medical procedure and follow-up.

Injection day and the first few weeks

The clinician should assess your face at rest and in expression and ask about your medical history and earlier fillers. Before injection, you should be told where the gel is intended to sit and which anatomical risks apply. After cleansing and antiseptic preparation, a needle or cannula may be used depending on the label, anatomy and plan. You could feel pressure, tingling or pain. Lidocaine's effect varies and is no reason to disregard unusual pain.

When you look in the mirror What can be routine Planning implication
On the day Needle marks, mild swelling, tenderness, reaction-related asymmetry This is not the final result; avoid scheduling an immediate photoshoot
In the following days Bruises, fluctuating swelling and a firm sensation Cosmetics may not conceal puffiness; ask when makeup is allowed
Over subsequent weeks Settling tissue, sometimes persistent lumps or unevenness A planned review can distinguish normal healing from a complication

Discuss exercise, sauna, intense heat, skincare, massage and other procedures in advance. One product's instructions may differ from another's. Do not knead or “redistribute” the gel following social-media tips. Being fit to work does not imply an absence of visible marks. Before a wedding or major photo session, factor in uncertain healing and the possibility of postponing entirely.

When is this an emergency rather than a routine follow-up?

Local soreness, swelling and bruising may follow hyaluronic-acid injections, but not every symptom is normal “settling.” Infection, inflammatory nodules, delayed reactions, persistent irregularities and allergy are possible. The most serious rare event is impaired circulation from gel inside or compressing a blood vessel, potentially causing skin necrosis, vision loss or stroke.

Sudden severe or unusual pain, whitening or mottled skin, new visual symptoms, limb weakness, speech difficulty or a severe unusual headache warrant immediate emergency assessment. Say so during injection or at once afterward; do not wait until morning. Increasing pain later, hot red skin, fever, discharge or escalating swelling also need urgent in-person evaluation. Ask the injector to explain the contact and emergency plan beforehand.

Hyaluronic gel can sometimes be addressed with hyaluronidase in suitable circumstances, but reversing treatment is never guaranteed. Timing, access to the treatment and the type of complication all matter. If a clinician promises that hyaluronic acid fillers “cannot cause serious problems,” do not treat that claim as a medical guarantee.

When is “not yet” the better answer?

Elective filler injections are deferred during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, direct evidence on infant safety is lacking. Expert reviews allow cautious individual consideration of hyaluronic-acid fillers because systemic exposure is expected to be low, yet an exact version’s instructions may expressly prohibit use. Postponing an optional procedure is also a reasonable choice. For example, the 2024 Australian instructions for Saypha VOLUME Lidocaine expressly list both pregnancy and breastfeeding as contraindications for that version; verify any different market label separately. Active herpes, infection or inflammation at the injection site needs treatment or assessment first. Known allergy to the gel's ingredients, including lidocaine where present, is a significant restriction. Autoimmune disease, immunotherapy, medicines affecting clotting, abnormal scarring and prior injected products warrant individual review. Do not independently stop prescribed anticoagulants to reduce bruising.

If you have already had injections, tell the clinician which material was used, where, when and whether complications occurred. The old filler cannot always be identified reliably by touch; records and sometimes further assessment may be needed. The more complex your treatment history, the less reasonable it is to hurry into a new injection for a discount or one upcoming evening.

Questions that make the choice clearer

  • Does the package say VOLUME, VOLUME Lidocaine, VOLUME PLUS Lidocaine or RICH? Can I see the current instructions for that precise version?
  • Are we treating one fold, loss of volume or superficial dryness?
  • Are the chosen area and injection depth permitted for this product in our market?
  • How would it affect my profile and smile, and what cannot this gel change?
  • What should I expect over the coming days and weeks, which symptoms are emergencies, and whom can I contact?
  • Could a smaller amount, different treatment, skin care or no procedure be more suitable?

Compare Saypha Volume with Juvéderm Volux, Perfectha or other injectables by their actual indications, published evidence and anatomy, not by name recognition. If the only explanation for choosing the product is fashion or price, you may reasonably decide against the injection for now.

Frequently asked questions

Can Saypha RICH dilute or soften an excessively firm VOLUME filler?

No. It is a separate product for a different goal, not a treatment for complications from another filler. Unwanted results need an in-person plan with a qualified clinician.

Can an unfinished syringe be stored and used at another appointment?

No, not for Saypha VOLUME Lidocaine under its available Australian instructions: the syringe is single-use and must not be reused. For any different version, still check its instructions, sterile packaging and how any remaining material must be discarded. Do not accept an undocumented offer to “save the syringe for later.”
